Sonnet Montessori in the United States (Iowa) is seeking an Assistant Educator to support the Lead Educator in creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment where children can thrive and explore. You will help implement play-based lessons, supervise students, support classroom routines, communicate with families, and participate in ongoing professional development.

The role requires DHS qualification, strong communication, and physical ability to assist with activities up to 40lbs.

Qualifications

• Meets DHS Assistant Teacher qualification requirements.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lessons that support development.
• Help maintain a positive classroom culture with safety, belonging, and curiosity.
• Supervise and engage students to ensure safety and participation.
• Support daily classroom cleaning, routines, and conflict resolution.
• Communicate with families at drop-off/pick-up and via the app; participate in professional development.
