Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced engineer to advance electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) evolutions for naval ship architectures and systems in Dahlgren, VA. You will perform EMP research, analysis, and testing, assess impacts on ship configurations, and prepare technical reports for sponsor requirements.

Responsibilities include planning MIL-STD 461 testing at the NOTES facility, and participating in LLCW demonstrations; a Top Secret/Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a technical field.
• 12+ years related to warfare/electronic systems or naval architecture.
• 7+ years in RDT&E or integration for warfare or electronic systems.
• Active security clearance required (Secret or Top Secret).

Responsibilities

• Perform EMP research, analysis, requirements development, assessments and testing.
• Assess E3/EMP impact on shipboard configurations and systems; write reports.
• Develop conclusions on HEMP effects and sponsor-aligned documentation.
• Plan MIL-STD 461 testing at NOTES facility and conduct LLCW SOP refinements.
• Support data acquisition and analysis for LLCW demonstrations.
