Job summary

QuestPro seeks a Senior Underwriter for Excess & Surplus Casualty to join a growing team. This senior role focuses on underwriting profitability, portfolio management, and producer relationships across the E&S line.

The candidate will mentor staff and partner with leadership to strengthen underwriting capabilities. The position emphasizes risk assessment, product knowledge, and collaboration with brokers, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of underwriting, product management or related experience with a proven record of favorable accomplishments.
• Significant knowledge of property and casualty, with surplus and specialty lines preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered with high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite to attain profitable growth objectives and align with division goals.
• Build strong relationships with producers and brokers.
• Analyze and evaluate risk, including complex or larger risks, for pricing and coverage decisions.
• Review products, filings and pricing; recommend enhancements.
• Travel as required, up to 10%.
• Lead and mentor underwriting staff, and share knowledge with peers.
