Job summary

MSIG USA, the US-based subsidiary of MS&AD Insurance Group, seeks an experienced underwriting leader to manage the Property portfolio and strategy with senior management, ensuring profitability and growth.

You will recruit and develop staff, oversee underwriting processes, monitor loss activity and budgets, and foster strong producer relationships across regions; a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of P&C experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; strong underwriting background.
• 7+ years of commercial P&C coverage experience.
• 2+ years mentoring or managing junior underwriters.

Responsibilities

• Manages the portfolio including contributing to development and monitoring of MSIG USA’s E&S Property business plan to achieve profitability and growth.
• Underwrites and maintains own book of business.
• Assigns underwriting authority to direct reports based on expertise and effectively manages process with National Underwriting in conjunction with own letter of underwriting authority.
• Manages work assignments for staff to achieve service goals and balanced workloads.
• Manages the Account Management process for prospective and in-force accounts in conjunction with Risk Engineering, Claims and Marketing.
• Tracks, monitors and reports on loss activity, marketing activity, GWP achievement, budget/operational issues on a monthly basis.
