Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced E&S Excess Casualty Underwriter to join the Casualty team in Chicago or Schaumburg with hybrid work options. You will engage with brokers, evaluate risks, price coverage, and work with claims, finance, and risk engineering to deliver profitable growth.

The role may be filled at Executive Underwriter or AVP Underwriting Director level, based on the candidate’s experience.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Established wholesale broker relationships are preferred.
• Creative problem-solving skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with broker partners and customers across industries.
• Leverage casualty underwriting knowledge for risk assessment, exposure evaluation and pricing.
• Collaborate across units (claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, underwriting) to grow knowledge.
• Use market-facing skills to grow relationships with distribution partners in assigned territory.
