Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America (MBRDNA) is seeking an experienced E-Motor Control Engineer in Ann Arbor, MI. You will develop, validate, and optimize e-motor control algorithms for electrified powertrains, using model-based design tools, calibration suites, and HIL/dyno validation.

You will lead calibration activities, coordinate testing across groups, and contribute to future planning for motors and software variants, while maintaining Mercedes-Benz processes and PLM-driven

Qualifications

  • MS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, preferably with focus on control algorithms.
  • 5+ years of experience in e-motor control for automotive applications using model-based design, simulation, and algorithm development.
  • Familiarity with calibration tools and scripting for data processing and test automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and refine e-motor control algorithms using Simulink/TargetLink and automated code generation.
  • Validate algorithms via simulation, motor emulator, HIL, and dyno tests.
  • Calibrate motor control software to meet performance, functionality, and diagnostic requirements.
  • Design and execute comprehensive test cases for EM-Controls software and generate reports from test data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage requirements using PLM tools.
