Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior E&I Estimator in the United States to oversee lump sum, unit rate and cost‑plus estimates for complex projects and to coordinate estimating across multiple disciplines.

You will support pre‑construction activities, coordinate with Engineering Operations, Procurement and Construction, and mentor junior staff to maintain a high‑quality estimating database. This role emphasizes safety, integrity, and value delivery within a 100% ESOP‑owned environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including estimating experience.
• Must complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search).

Responsibilities

• Prepares cost estimates on proposals, projects and studies and ensures content is complete and accurate.
• Plan, coordinate, review, verify and analyze all aspects of estimates and estimate presentation.
• Direct, train and develop subordinates.
• Maintain the company estimating database.
• Coordinate estimating factors with Engineering Operations, Procurement and Construction.
• Provide technical advice to the Project Manager for estimates of varying scope.
• Appraise accuracy and recommend contingencies for lump sum, defined and interim estimates.
• Ensure flow of project assignments within schedules and budgets.
• Assist Estimating leadership with independent assessment of estimate accuracy.
• Recommend detailed estimating procedures and techniques.
• Develop formal training programs to improve estimating techniques.
