Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Dyno Technician in Michigan to operate and maintain large dynamometers for powertrain testing. You will install and configure sensors to collect high-quality data, build test rigs with engineers, and perform routine maintenance while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

5+ years of technician experience in test cells and/or large dynamometer systems.
2+ years of experience with electrified vehicles.
Expertise in instrumentation (Thermocouples, RTDs, Strain Gauges, Accelerometers, Hygrometers, Pressure Gauges, Flow Meters).
Knowledge of motor, inverter, and gearbox concepts.
Knowledge of propulsion systems and thermal (coolant and refrigerant) systems.
Knowledge of Electric Vehicle Safety.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain large dynamometers (vehicle and powertrain testing).
Install instrumentation to collect data during testing (accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, etc.).
Set up test rigs for mechanical and electrical tests with multiple engineering teams.
Perform routine maintenance and electrical/mechanical repairs.
Contribute to EHS within the lab and risk assessments.
