Job summary

CTG is seeking a Senior Dynatrace Observability Engineer to lead enterprise monitoring initiatives for our client. This remote role requires strong hands-on experience with Dynatrace, APM, distributed tracing, and infrastructure monitoring across Windows, Linux, cloud, and on‑premise environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in enterprise monitoring, APM, or observability engineering.
• 3+ years deploying, configuring, and administering Dynatrace in enterprise environments.
• Experience implementing end-to-end monitoring, tracing dependencies, and correlating data.
• Experience establishing baselines, configuring monitoring policies, and improving incident detection.
• Preferred: Dynatrace Grail, OpenTelemetry, AWS or Azure, and ITSM integrations (ServiceNow, Jira, PagerDuty).
• Familiarity with automation (Python/PowerShell/REST); DevOps, SRE, incident management, change impact analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and optimize Dynatrace observability solutions.
• Implement end-to-end APM, distributed tracing, dependency mapping, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Use Dynatrace Davis AI to identify root causes and investigate incidents.
• Monitor Windows, Linux, cloud, and virtualized environments for bottlenecks and latency.
• Configure business transaction monitoring, RUM, and Synthetic Monitoring.
• Develop dashboards, alerts, and anomaly detection aligned to SLIs/SLOs.
• Use DQL and analytics to investigate issues and improve monitoring.
• Establish performance baselines and validate deployment impacts.
• Implement monitoring integrations for SaaS platforms and external APIs.
• Evaluate configurations to improve coverage, alert quality, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define monitoring requirements.
• Create architecture diagrams and documentation; provide guidance to engineers.
