Outpost in Los Angeles seeks a Senior Dynamics and Loads Engineer to own loads, structural and multibody analyses for the CarryAll vehicle family. You will define dynamic environments, size structures, and validate performance from concept through production, collaborating with design, structures, and test teams.

The role emphasizes cross-functional work, scripting for workflow automation, and delivering design recommendations under tight timelines in a fast-moving aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in loads, structural dynamics, multibody dynamics or related analysis.
• Strong fundamentals in rigid-body dynamics, structural dynamics, vibration and transient response.
• Experience defining and evaluating mechanical loads and dynamic environments for flight hardware or high-consequence systems.
• Experience with CLA with launch vehicle providers including Craig-Bampton methods.
• Experience with FE tools (ANSYS/Abaqus/NASTRAN/NASTRAN) with modal/transient/dynamic analysis.
• Experience with multibody dynamics tools (ANSYS Motion/Adams/RecurDyn/Simpack).
• Proven cross-functional collaboration and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Own development of vehicle loads, structural and multibody dynamics analyses from architecture to hardware realization.
• Define environmental load cases and dynamic environments across full mission (launch, separation, reentry, landing).
• Translate analysis results into design requirements, sizing inputs, interface loads, and architecture decisions.
• Support development of structural dynamics models and dynamic load predictions for flight hardware.
• Drive dynamic trade studies on mechanism architecture and deployment performance.
• Develop multi-mission load spectra and support fatigue and durability assessments.
• Help define test objectives and instrumentation for mechanism and dynamic tests.
• Correlate simulations to test/flight data and refine models based on hardware learnings.
• Present progress, risks, and recommendations in reviews and program forums.
• Operate in a fast-paced development environment balancing fidelity, judgment, and schedule.
