Job summary

Outpost is seeking a Senior Dynamics and Loads Engineer in Santa Monica to own vehicle loads, structural and multibody dynamics analyses across the full mission. You will collaborate with hardware teams to define design requirements, size the CarryAll, and validate performance through modeling and hardware correlation.

The role requires 5+ years in dynamics for aerospace/defense, strong FEA/MD tools, and scripting in Python or MATLAB. Opportunity for growth in a fast-paced, first-of-kind program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in loads/structural dynamics for aerospace/defense.
• Experience with CLA and launch-vehicle loads.
• Proficiency with FEA and multibody tools; scripting in Python/MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Own development of vehicle loads, structural and multibody dynamics analyses.
• Define environmental load cases across full mission (launch to landing).
• Translate analysis results into design requirements with hardware teams.
• Support models with modal characterization and transient response.
• Drive dynamic trade studies for architecture and deployment.
• Develop multi-mission load spectra and fatigue assessments.
• Define test objectives and correlation plans for hardware tests.
• Correlate simulations with test/flight data and refine models.
• Present progress and risks in design reviews.
