Job summary

Ford is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design and release dynamic weather sealing systems for vehicle programs. You will lead DFMEA/SCCAF activities, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure design conformance from concept through production trials.

Requirements include a BSME or equivalent, 3–5 years in elastomers and sealing systems, and strong problem-solving with RCA. Travel may be required; current Ford program scope includes autonomy and electrification initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience minimum in elastomers and weather sealing systems.
• Product design experience and knowledge of build variation processes.
• Develop ESOW and Engineering concepts; participate in sourcing reviews.
• Lead design reviews with sealing suppliers and sign off DFMEA/SCCAF.
• Sign off on eCAD drawings with GD&T; verify DVP&R tests meet specs.
• Manage AVBOM, change control, and WERS through product life cycle.
• Aiming for DPA glidepath and timely P-Release; strong RCA skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities; willingness to travel.
• Heavy collaboration with Ford Program Management, Cost Estimating, Materials, QA.

Responsibilities

• Design and release dynamic sealing systems meeting cost, quality and timing goals.
• Lead engineering documentation and sign-off for design compliance.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure system design specifications are met.
• Support production issues, cost reduction, and quality initiatives.
