Job summary

E-Space in Santa Clara is seeking an experienced embedded DSP engineer to own the design, implementation, and integration of a 5G NR PHY subsystem for satellite NTN.

You will develop and optimize DSP firmware, perform pre-silicon verification, SystemC/TLM modeling, and collaborate with ASIC and software teams to meet real-time deadlines.

A BS with 7+ years (MS 5+ years, PhD 3+ years) in DSP/wireless or related fields is expected; relocation for Santa Clara is preferred; sponsorship not provided.

Qualifications

• Design and deliver DSP algorithms with performance tradeoffs.
• Implement and debug numerical algorithms in C/C++, with Python/Matlab for simulation and test automation.
• Experience implementing 5G NR PHY functions and interpreting 3GPP specs.
• Convert floating-point to fixed-point and validate against reference models.
• Own realtime embedded DSP software, optimize power and performance with ASIC teams.
• Build reproducible tests and use version control; document assumptions and results.
• Deliver PHY subsystem through integration and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, and integration of a 5G NR PHY for NTN.
• Define and execute PHY/link-level simulations; analyze NTN operating conditions and tradeoffs.
• Deliver and optimize DSP firmware for real-time processing and memory efficiency.
• Own reference models and test vectors; ensure regression coverage.
• Contribute to SystemC/TLM and high-level synthesis development.
• Lead pre-silicon verification and bring-up; define tests and resolve discrepancies.
• Review code and mentor engineers; coordinate with ASIC, verification, and software teams.
