Job summary

E-Space in Santa Clara, CA is hiring a senior DSP software and firmware architect to lead the 5G NR modem PHY for satellite NTN networks. You will define subsystem interfaces, guide hardware/software partitioning with ASIC architects, and stay hands-on in critical implementations.

You will drive modeling, verification, and pre-silicon bring-up across subsystems, mentoring engineers and coordinating cross-team decisions to meet ambitious performance and power targets.

Qualifications

• BS with 10+ years, MS with 7+ years, or PhD with 5+ years in DSP/wireless or embedded modem development.
• Deep knowledge of 5G NR PHY implementation and NTN requirements.
• Experience converting floating-point to fixed-point and validating performance.
• Ability to lead embedded modem software across processors and accelerators.

Responsibilities

• Lead DSP software and firmware architecture for 5G NR PHY in NTN satellite systems.
• Set PHY modeling, performance budgets, and acceptance criteria across subsystems.
• Guide real-time firmware architecture, power/state coordination, and optimization.
• Establish reference-model practices for traceability from requirements to behavior.
• Contribute to SystemC/TLM and HLS development with synthesizable implementations.
• Lead pre-silicon verification and bring-up across subsystems, resolving issues with data.
• Drive cross-team decisions, mentor engineers, and coordinate tapeout and silicon validation.
