Job summary

AeroVironment in Sunrise, FL is seeking a Digital Signal Processing Engineer to design and implement DSP systems for advanced electronic warfare, communications, and sensing platforms. You will work with a cross‑functional team on algorithms, SDRs, and software/hardware integration from concept through validation.

The role emphasizes deep DSP theory, practical coding in C/C++, and the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years DSP/communications engineering.
• Master’s degree with 6+ years or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in advanced DSP algorithms.
• Proficiency in communications theory.
• Proficiency in programming languages, preferably C/C++.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement complex digital signal processing systems for communication and sensing platforms.
• Develop and implement DSP algorithms and translate concepts into high‑performance solutions.
• Prepare project design documentation including requirements, specifications, and test plans.
• Design and conduct experiments; analyze data to validate performance.
• Plan and coordinate engineering work to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
• Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for projects.
• Assist in proposals to obtain funding for engineering programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across software, hardware, and systems.
• Contribute innovative ideas and technical solutions advancing products and mission performance.
