Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an engineer to support the Drivetrain Platform Team for Large Mining Truck, Off-Highway Truck, and Wheel Tractor Scraper projects in Illinois.

You will lead design releases, coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers, and drive product robustness and cost-out initiatives. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields, strong analytical skills, and expertise in CAD/PLM tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with CAD/PLM tools and product design for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Communicate design changes to process partners via Content Definition and Design Reviews.
• Provide factory support for Assurance of Supply issues as first engineering contact.
• Resolve BIQ and NPI issues with factory teams; maintain dashboards and status.
• Release engine arrangements and platform-owned drawings; manage large assemblies in Creo/Teamcenter.
• Investigate current production issues and deploy robustness initiatives.
• Evaluate parts resourcing and cost reduction opportunities.
• Manage design control requests.
