Job summary

Caterpillar in East Peoria, IL is seeking a Drivetrain Gear Design Engineer to own the full lifecycle of a family of gears, supporting New Product Introduction, Current Product Improvement, and New Source Introduction with emphasis on cost and quality. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal manufacturing to achieve robust design solutions.

This role develops component design and manufacturing skills, working with marketing, purchasing and manufacturing to drive design

Qualifications

• Information capture techniques to document business information.
• Ability to design, implement and evaluate SOPs to boost efficiency.
• Analytical thinking to identify root causes and develop solutions.
• Effective communication concepts to clearly convey ideas and needs.
• DFM knowledge to optimize product designs for manufacturability.
