Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Senior Driver Technician to safely operate a DOT-regulated vehicle and transport materials to customer sites. You will initiate field service activities, troubleshoot systems, and interact with customers while supporting multiple locations.

This role requires travel 20-80% depending on division, a HS diploma, and CDL eligibility. You will work under supervision but may perform independently, ensuring safety and compliance in every task.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to obtain CDL Class A or B with endorsements.
  • 2 to 5 years of technical work experience in industrial or process water.
  • Clean driving record and ability to travel overnight.
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer-service skills.

Job Summary:

The Senior Driver Technician will be responsible for safe operation of a DOT regulated vehicle, transporting materials/equipment from point A to point B. This role initiates and executes field service activities at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner, including proactive system troubleshooting, working with mechanical, electrical, diesel equipment conditions (based on the requirements of the assigned role/customer), and anticipates and corrects safety issues (both Company and Customer owned equipment). Has direct interfacing with customer and may be responsible for work in multiple systems/locations/customers.

Education & Experience Requirements:
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Capable of obtaining a CDL, class A or B with applicable endorsements
Preferred:
  • May have industry specific license(s)
Experience Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain all required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain DOT Medical card
  • Clean driving record
  • 2 to 5 years of technical work experience, including industrial or commercial process water experience
  • Ability to drive overnight
  • Ability to cross-borders and obtain valid passport
  • Ability to drive difficult routesAbility to understand weight requirements / weight distribution
Skill Requirements:
  • Electrical, mechanical, diesel, fusion experience depending on business unit
  • Work without direct supervision
  • Technically sound
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including smart devices
  • Must have customer service experience
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and troubleshooting ability
  • Synthesizes technical information and communicates it clearly
