Job summary

The Nabors Industries Canrig Shop in Odessa, Texas, seeks a skilled Mechanic III to perform advanced inspection, disassembly, repair, overhaul, assembly and testing of Canrig drilling equipment in a repair-shop environment.

You will diagnose faults, source parts, follow procedures, and ensure work meets safety, quality, and efficiency standards while coaching less-experienced teammates. A HS diploma and 4–7 years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4-7 years in mechanical repair or closely related field preferred.
• Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, assemble and test mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced inspection, disassembly, repair, overhaul, assembly and functional testing of Canrig and related drilling equipment in a repair-shop environment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and identify parts; escalate outside limits as needed.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools and precision measuring instruments safely and accurately.
• Conduct light hydraulic support and basic functional checks under approved procedures.
• Record work performed and ensure safe, efficient shop execution and knowledge sharing with teammates.
