Job summary

Nabors invites applications for a Shop Electrician III in Odessa, TX. This role performs advanced electrical inspection, repair, wiring, integration, and functional testing on Canrig drilling equipment, following approved drawings and procedures.

You will diagnose complex faults, execute tests, and participate in safety and quality processes, mentoring less-experienced electricians while ensuring safe, on-time return to service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of electrical assembly, maintenance, or repair experience.
• Ability to diagnose, repair, integrate, and test complex electrical equipment and control systems.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical components, wiring, motors, drives, and power distribution.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, BOMs, and test procedures.
• Ability to use PPE and electrical test tools safely; respirator use if required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, overhaul, wire, integrate, and prepare complex electrical components for return to service.
• Diagnose faults in wiring, motors, drives, and control systems; determine repair actions and escalate when needed.
• Use termination tools, multimeters, amp probes, and insulation testers to verify repairs safely.
• Perform and evaluate electrical tests such as continuity and insulation tests.
• Inspect equipment condition and nonconformities; document results and follow escalation protocols.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and support shop test assets; organize work steps and materials.
• Maintain safety, quality, and team collaboration; mentor less-experienced electricians.
