Job summary

INSPYR Solutions is seeking a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer in Houston, onsite daily, to join the growing automation team responsible for drilling rig control software and hardware.

The role emphasizes development of PLCs and HMIs (Siemens preferred), integration of industrial protocols, and creating reliable control solutions, with opportunities to design new automation projects and support field operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Experience with industrial communications protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, CANBUS, OPC UA).
• 7+ years of proven programming experience with PLCs (Siemens, Omron).
• Demonstrated experience in HMI development (Wonderware, WinCC, Ignition).

Responsibilities

• Develop control algorithms, PLC software, and HMI design for drilling rigs.
• Design and develop drilling applications to improve efficiency.
• Implement and validate industrial communication protocols.
• Collaborate with third-party contractors and internal teams to execute projects.
• Provide field support and troubleshooting for control systems.
