Job summary

INSPYR Solutions in Houston seeks a Manager, Controls and Automation to lead the development, deployment, and lifecycle support of our controls and automation systems. You will directly manage Field Engineers and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable solutions across drilling, marine, and power equipment.

The role demands hands‑on technical leadership, strong program management, and the ability to drive continuous improvement of Wrench, Catwalk, and related control

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Programming, Automation, or related field.
• Five+ years PLC programming and HMI development experience.
• Five+ years generator-controls and power-distribution experience.
• Experience supervising and developing engineering or field-service personnel.
• Experience with Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, and CANBUS.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Controls and Automation function and directly manage all Field Engineers.
• Manage automation engineering personnel and third‑party resources supporting control‑system development, deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service.
• Understand and influence the company's controls and automation roadmap; translate requirements into system architecture and scalable plans.
• Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and continual improvement of PLC, HMI, data‑logging, networks, and related hardware/software.
• Apply control‑system theory to develop and review control algorithms for drilling, marine, generator-control, power‑distribution, drive, AFE, and BESS.
• Coordinate with the development team and Field Engineers to test, deploy, and verify hot fixes and urgent software updates.
