Job summary

City of Seattle is seeking a Senior Drainage & Wastewater Planning Engineer to lead capital projects and programs that reduce CSOs, improve drainage capacity, and protect water quality. You will guide planning, design, and construction across a $179M North Seattle portfolio and report to the DWW North Seattle Capital Portfolio Lead.

The role requires PE licensure in WA, a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, and at least five years of civil engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Five years' professional civil engineering experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Washington.
• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
• Combination of education/experience/training providing equivalent background.

Responsibilities

• Lead the initiation and options analysis for drainage and wastewater capital projects.
• Serve as a technical SME in stormwater, CSO, and related infrastructure planning.
• Coordinate with SPU leadership, other departments, and community partners on project direction.
• Develop business cases, conduct presentations, and secure funding for projects.
• Manage multiple projects with internal and consultant staff, from planning through close-out.
