Job summary

NCS is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to lead design, analysis, and documentation of stormwater systems for diverse development projects. You will oversee hydrologic and hydraulic studies, coordinate with CAD teams and clients, and ensure quality control. A PE is preferred, with 6–12+ years of drainage experience.

You will mentor engineers, manage multiple projects, and ensure compliance with standards, permitting, and budgets while pursuing grant opportunities and public-sector initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Water Resources Engineering or related discipline.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• 6–12+ years of experience in drainage and stormwater design for land development, site, or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/review drainage calculations, hydrology studies, stormwater management reports, and drainage design plans.
• Lead hydrologic and hydraulic studies using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PC-SWMM, SRH-2D, and other applicable modeling software.
• Develop/seal drainage reports, FEMA LOMR/MT-2 submittals, and drainage design plans.
• Perform watershed-scale flood risk analysis, inundation mapping, and stormwater conveyance/detention design.
• Manage, mentor, and develop engineers/EITs, including assigning work and monitoring performance.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and CAD staff to integrate drainage systems with grading, roadway, and utility designs.
