Job summary

Bowman Consulting in San Diego, CA is seeking a Drainage/Stormwater Quality Engineer III to join our team. You will evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques on moderately complex projects around land/site development.

Work with senior engineers, clients and agencies to design and analyze drainage systems, using Civil3D, AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, and related tools. Salary ranges from $100,000 to $125,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required at time of hire.
Professional Engineer license preferred.
Five or more (5+) years of experience in the land development industry.
Land Development engineering experience and skills; large- and small-scale drainage and BMP design preferred.
Experience with Civil3D and other listed software.
Proficiency with reading construction plans.
Knowledge of stormwater quality requirements and BMP design.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize the initial civil design approach for assigned phases of large land/site development.
Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on moderately complex projects.
Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
Complete civil engineering work for assigned phases of large land/site development.
Complete design work and calculations using computer-aided software.
Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications.
Assist with the development of plans, specifications, and reports.
Provide technical assistance in resolution of design problems, including field investigations and coordination.
Prepare reports and correspondence concerning project direction.
Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications and estimates.
