Job summary

Thorough safety practices are required, with pre/post storm inspections and adherence to the city’s drug-testing policy. CDL Class A within 180 days is mandatory, along with a valid license and clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of full-time equipment operation experience.
• Education and experience may be combined.
• This position is safety sensitive and drug testing applies.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must obtain Virginia CDL Class A within 180 days of employment.
• Background check required prior to offer.

Responsibilities

• Operate specialized heavy-duty motorized/automotive equipment for drainage maintenance.
• Repair/replace storm water pipes and perform heavy ditch maintenance.
• Haul construction materials and maintain right-of-way access.
• Eliminate storm water blockages to prevent property damage and mosquito breeding during pre/post storm inspections.
