The City of Hampton is seeking an Equipment Operator III to operate specialized heavy-duty equipment for drainage maintenance and public works projects. You will repair and replace storm water pipes, haul materials, and perform heavy ditch maintenance as part of maintaining the city’s infrastructure.

Role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of related equipment operation experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Virginia CDL Class A within 180 days.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time equivalent experience in equipment operation or closely related experience.
• The position is safety sensitive and will be tested for alcohol and controlled substances.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
• Must obtain Virginia CDL Class A within 180 days of employment.
• Background check required prior to offer or promotion.

Responsabilités

• Operate heavy-duty and motorized equipment for construction, maintenance and repair of city infrastructure.
