Rinker Design Associates (RDA) is seeking a Drainage Engineer with 7–12 years of experience to join our Transportation team in Fredericksburg, VA. The role focuses on drainage and stormwater analysis for road and infrastructure projects, working closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

You will develop plans using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and MicroStation/OpenRoads, mentor junior staff, and contribute to proposals while collaborating with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 7–12 years of drainage/stormwater or water resources experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or Virginia licensure through reciprocity.
• Experience with VDOT projects and familiarity with the VDOT Drainage Manual.
• Knowledge of FEMA, DEQ, and AASHTO standards.

Responsabilités

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and design for transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare drainage reports, stormwater management calculations, and supporting documentation.
• Design storm sewers, culverts, channels, and erosion/sediment control measures.
• Develop plans and models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer.
• Coordinate with managers, clients, and regulatory agencies to support delivery.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable regulations.
• Participate in field investigations and provide construction support.
• Collaborate with roadway, traffic, and environmental teams.
• Assist with proposal preparation and mentor junior staff.
