Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to lead drainage design for transportation infrastructure across the West, with flexibility to base in CA offices or Portland, OR, or Bellevue, WA. You will mentor staff, guide complex design efforts, and work with public-sector clients on high-visibility programs.

You will oversee hydrology analyses, stormwater systems, and regulatory coordination, while delivering accurate reports and maintaining strong client relationships across multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related field.
• 13–18 years of progressive drainage design experience, preferably in transportation projects.
• Professional Engineer license in WA, OR, or CA (preferred) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with hydrology/hydraulic analyses and stormwater management design.

Responsibilities

• Lead drainage design for transportation projects (roadway, rail, bridge, highway).
• Oversee design of stormwater systems, culverts, BMPs, and LID features.
• Perform hydrology analyses to support design decisions and compliance.
• Coordinate permitting and environmental regulatory coordination.
• Prepare drainage reports, cost estimates, and design documentation with QA/QC.
