Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer in Orlando, FL to lead drainage and water resources engineering for FDOT and municipal transportation projects. You will plan, analyze, design, and oversee drainage systems in line with FDOT standards and Florida permitting.

The role emphasizes leadership and technical guidance on complex schemes. Ideal candidates bring 6–10+ years of experience, a Florida PE, and proficiency with OpenRoads/MicroStation, plus familiarity with stormwater modeling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 6-10+ years of drainage and water resources experience.
• Active Florida PE license required.
• Proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation.
• Experience with FDOT criteria and Florida stormwater permitting.
• Familiarity with Stormwise, HEC-RAS, HY-8, BMPTRAINs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead drainage design for FDOT roadway and transportation projects in Central Florida.
• Develop drainage concepts and perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for stormwater systems.
• Prepare drainage calculations, reports, design plans, and specifications per FDOT Drainage Manual.
• Design storm sewer systems, pond systems, exfiltration systems, and roadway drainage infrastructure.
• Coordinate with FDOT and local agencies during project development.
• Prepare and support permit applications to Water Management Districts and other regulatory agencies.
• Utilize Bentley products for drainage modeling and plans production.
• Assist in mentoring junior engineers and EITs.
• Provide quality control reviews of drainage plans and documentation.
• Support proposal development, scope preparation, and fee estimates for new opportunities.
