Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer in Orlando, FL to lead drainage design on transportation projects. You will serve as Engineer-of-Record or Senior Engineer, perform analyses, prepare plans and cost estimates, and mentor junior staff.

The role requires 7+ years in FDOT drainage/water resources design, strong communication, and ability to coordinate with clients and agencies. Hybrid work options may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s in water resources is a plus.
• 7+ years of FDOT drainage/water resources design experience.
• Florida Professional Engineer license preferred or within 6 months after hire.
• Experience with FDOT drainage design criteria, standards, and procedures.
• Experience with permitting by Florida WMDs, FDEP, and USACE.
• Experience with ICPR, ASAD, SUDA, MicroStation, Geopak, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, Civil3D, CADD, ORD, GIS.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engineer-of-Record, Senior Engineer, or Project Manager on Transportation drainage projects.
• Perform and collaborate on drainage analyses with other staff.
• Prepare drainage plans, reports, quantities, and cost estimates for projects.
• QC reviews of design docs and plans from internal staff and consultants.
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver quality projects on budget and on schedule.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers and oversee design activities.
