Job summary

GFT seeks an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer in Miami to lead drainage design for transportation projects across Florida, with emphasis on FDOT standards. The role offers office-based work in Miami or embedded assignment with FDOT District 6, focusing on hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and stormwater management.

You will deliver calculations, reports, and permitting documents while ensuring quality and compliance with FDOT guidelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Transportation Engineering (or related field).
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
5+ years post-PE license.
10+ years of drainage design for highway/roadway projects.
Pump Station and Deep Well experience.
Strong FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans, and Drainage Manual knowledge.
Proficient in OpenRoadsDesigner.

Responsibilities

Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and permitting documents.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including stormwater collection system analysis.
Develop stormwater management designs and obtain permits in compliance with state and local regulations.
Perform reviews of drainage designs, plans, and reports for FDOT and municipal transportation projects.
Ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and compliance with applicable FDOT standards and guidelines.
