Job summary

GFT seeks an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer in Miami to lead drainage design for transportation projects across Florida, with emphasis on FDOT standards. The role offers office-based work in Miami or embedded assignment with FDOT District 6, focusing on hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and stormwater management.

You will deliver calculations, reports, and permitting documents while ensuring quality and compliance with FDOT guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Transportation Engineering (or related field).
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
• 5+ years post-PE license.
• 10+ years of drainage design for highway/roadway projects.
• Pump Station and Deep Well experience.
• Strong FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans, and Drainage Manual knowledge.
• Proficient in OpenRoadsDesigner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and permitting documents.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including stormwater collection system analysis.
• Develop stormwater management designs and obtain permits in compliance with state and local regulations.
• Perform reviews of drainage designs, plans, and reports for FDOT and municipal transportation projects.

Whatyou’llbe challenged to do:

You’llsupport transportation and infrastructure projects by preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, drainage designs, andpermittingdocuments. Your work will involve hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater management design, and ensuring compliance with FDOT and local standards.

Compensation:

The range for this position is salary rangeis $150,000 – $185,000 per year. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
