Senior Drafting & Configuration Management Specialist

Job Category: Engineering and Technical Support

The Opportunity:

CCI is seeking a Senior Drafting & Configuration Management Specialist to support the strategic mission systems at the Global Operations Center (GOC) for USSTRATCOM. Your expertise in drafting and configuration management will ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of technical documentation and system configurations critical to mission success. The work location for this position is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepares, reviews, revises, and produces Product Drawings, specifications, and Associated Parts Lists to enable integration and installation of SCITLS
  2. Supports engineering services in developing Three-Dimensional (3D) Modeling and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)
  3. Develops drawings and designs on Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) suite
  4. Ensures drawings conform to Department of Defense (DoD) standards and contain the appropriate detail to support the evaluation of engineering concepts, the integration of equipment and assemblies, and the procurement of initial end items and/or form, fit, and function material alternatives
  5. Prepares non-dimensional drawings to evaluate engineering concepts, Level II production drawings that identify sufficient details to assemble and interface equipment, and Level II procurement drawing packages that completely describe a system to the point that another identical unit can be produced with the same form, fit, and function
  6. Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments
  7. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments
  8. Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) as required by mission needs
  9. Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership to meet mission requirements and support USSTRATCOM objectives. Depending on experience and team structure, this role may involve working under direct supervision or potentially providing guidance, training, or supervision to others
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
  • High School Diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in computer-aided drafting and configuration management, preferably in a defense or aerospace environment
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and configuration management tools
  • Required 8140 Cert: Not applicable

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Pay Range

The proposed salary range for this position is $49,700 - $101,800. Factors influencing final salary include geographic location, federal contract labor categories, relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications. We offer comprehensive benefits including healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education, and time off. Learn more here.
