Job summary

Weatherford Houston is seeking a senior-level engineer to lead design and optimization of downhole tools, driving technical innovation while ensuring the highest standards in project execution.

You will provide expert guidance across cross-functional teams, develop robust repair and production processes, evaluate reliability under harsh drilling conditions, and mentor junior engineers to raise the team's capabilities.

Qualifications

• B.S./Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of engineering experience with strong design development, validation, project management, and technical leadership.
• Experience in sustaining or new product development of electromechanical drilling services tools (MWD, LWD, RSS).

Responsibilities

• Lead design development and validation of downhole tools.
• Develop repair processes and inspection criteria for downhole components.
• Provide expert engineering direction for design and optimization projects.
• Coordinate project planning, design, execution, and testing with safety and regulatory alignment.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive innovative solutions.
• Maintain thorough project documentation.
