Job summary

Wellbore Integrity Solutions (WIS) in Houston seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead downhole tool design from concept to commercialization. You will create CAD models, perform analyses, and guide prototypes through testing and field feedback.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in downhole tool design, with Pro/ENGINEER Creo and FEA experience, and strong communication skills to collaborate across disciplines and with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Oil & Gas experience is essential.
• Minimum of 10 years related design and product development experience in downhole tools.
• Experience in drilling, remedial, milling and fishing tools is strongly desirable.
• Experience with 3D CAD required, preferably Pro/ENGINEER Creo or equivalent.
• Ability to conduct analyses using FEA (Abaqus or equivalent is a plus).
• Strong communication skills within all levels of the organization, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design projects for downhole tools from concept to product launch.
• Design, analyze, develop, and maintain mechanical downhole tools.
• Produce CAD models, assembly layouts and component drawings.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing and suppliers to build prototypes for testing.
• Develop testing procedures, document results, and present findings to clients.
• Provide training and support to clients and field representatives.
