Job summary

AIS Infrastructure Group seeks a Senior Highway Construction Estimator to lead the cost estimating for complex DOT highway, bridge and utility projects. You will drive bid strategy, risk analysis, and pricing decisions while coordinating with operations and leadership to ensure safe, profitable outcomes.

The role requires senior-level estimating experience in heavy civil construction, with strong skills in cost software, bid reviews, and subcontractor management.

Qualifications

• Significant experience with DOT highway/bridge projects.
• 7–10+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent).
• Proven leadership in large, complex estimates and bid reviews.
• Expertise with cost estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid, Vista, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive cost estimates for large-scale civil projects (highways, bridges, utilities).
• Develop bid strategies, pricing, subcontracting, and risk positioning.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs.
• Mentor junior estimators and coordinate with operations and management.
• Present estimates and support bid decisions to executives.
