Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Rolling Meadows, IL is seeking a Principal Systems Security Engineer to lead hands-on development of secure sensor payloads and anti-tamper solutions for our warfighter systems.

You will implement cybersecurity measures, validate requirements, and collaborate with government and program teams to ensure compliance with JSIG, NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, export controls, and security testing throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field with 5 years of related experience.
• Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years of related experience.
• PhD in STEM with 1 year of related experience.
• Two years of Systems Engineering experience with DoD platforms, sensors, or sub-systems.
• Experience in Anti-Tamper or Cybersecurity.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate full life cycle Systems Engineering development experience in Anti‑Tamper and/or Cybersecurity.
• Support hardware and software Anti‑Tamper and CyberSecurity techniques and countermeasures.
• Implement and ensure compliance with US Government policies (JSIG, NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, etc.).
• Conduct analyses to validate existing security requirements and develop safeguards.
• Collaborate with the US Government and program teams to develop Anti‑Tamper / CyberSecurity solutions.
• Coordinate Technology Release efforts with program personnel and provide training.
• Prepare, assess, and certify security documentation and POA&M updates.
