Job summary

ASEC is seeking a Senior System Administrator to secure, sustain, and optimize DoD environments at NAWS China Lake, CA. The role emphasizes cybersecurity, RMF/ATO support, and strong collaboration with internal and external partners.

The candidate will manage Windows/Linux systems, implement STIG-based configurations, and ensure compliance with DoD and NIST requirements in a high-impact, on-site position.

Qualifications

• CompTIA Security+ is required; Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, CS, or related field (or 7 years' experience).
• One of: MCSE Windows Server 2016+, RHCSA, or VMware Certified Professional.
• 7 years of related system administration experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of vCenter/VMware; Windows OS required; Linux a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, test, and implement system upgrades to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Support RMF and ATO activities, including vulnerability scanning and accreditation artifacts.
• Integrate new software applications within mission-critical DoD environments.
• Apply and maintain OS security configurations per DISA STIGs.
• Identify and resolve system flaws; implement technical controls to strengthen cybersecurity.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and assessments to safeguard systems.
