Job summary

ASEC seeks a Senior Network Administrator to support NAS Fallon, NV, protecting mission-critical Navy networks. You will lead hands-on engineering, configure and troubleshoot enterprise switches, routers, firewalls, and related devices, ensuring secure operation in a DoD environment.

You will work on DISA STIGs, ACAS/SCAP assessments, IAVMP actions, and change management processes, coordinating with government customers and cybersecurity teams while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Requires 9 years of progressively responsible experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise and tactical network infrastructures.
• CCNP Enterprise, Security, or Data Center and an OS certification (Linux+ preferred); additional certs such as SecurityX/CASP+, CCNA, CCSP, GCED, GCIA, GCLD, GDSA, or GFACT accepted.
• Experience with DISA STIGs, ACAS, SCAP, and IAVMP considerations in DoD environments.
• Strong knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, ACLs, and copper/fiber infrastructure; CCNA-level understanding.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS and NX-OS; ability to resolve complex network issues independently.

Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, proxies, cryptographic devices, and IDS/IPS.
• Implement secure configurations for network devices per DISA STIGs and related guidelines.
• Design and implement network configurations with segmentation, routing, and access controls.
• Troubleshoot complex connectivity, routing, and performance issues; identify root causes and remediate.
• Monitor availability and performance; propose improvements to support reliability and mission needs.
• Perform vulnerability assessments using ACAS, DISA STIGs, and SCAP tooling; document corrective actions.
• Support IAVMP, track compliance, and coordinate remediation with cybersecurity teams.
• Maintain configuration baselines, backups, inventories, and network diagrams.
• Coordinate with Government stakeholders and other teams to support integration and operations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to network support personnel.
