Job summary

NexGen Data Systems seeks an IT Subject Matter Expert to guide enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery across on‑prem and hybrid cloud environments. You will design architectures, enforce DoD security standards, and lead automation initiatives leveraging IaC and scripting.

Role requires DoD clearance, leadership experience, and deep hands-on storage knowledge with NetApp, Pure, Cohesity, and Veritas products. Strong communication to executives is essential.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance required (IT-I / Critical-Sensitive, Tier 5 SSBI).
• DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification required: IAT Level II or higher.
• Certifications in DoD CE such as AWS Solutions Architect/Azure Solutions Architect or NCDA/NCIE ONTAP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Key Personnel and lead advisor on enterprise storage and BC/DR architecture.
• Design and maintain DR runbooks and failover validation across on-prem and hybrid cloud.
• Lead design and lifecycle management of storage arrays (NetApp, Pure) and fabric switches (Fibre Channel).
• Oversee data protection and restore operations using Cohesity, Veritas NetBackup, and cloud tiers (AWS/Azure/OCI).
• Architect storage security controls incl. encryption, immutability, and DISA STIG/IAVA compliance.
• Troubleshoot complex storage bottlenecks and backup anomalies; perform root-cause analysis.
• Drive infrastructure automation via Python/PowerShell/Bash and IaC.
• Mentor engineering teams and produce technical documentation and SOPs.
