Job summary

KBR is seeking a Network Engineer in Colorado Springs to design, implement, and support our network infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and efficiency of wired/wireless systems to meet business needs.

The role collaborates with DoW engineers, software teams, and government stakeholders, leveraging SDN, IaC, and DevSecOps practices. A Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance is required, with Cisco and VMware proficiency, and 7–9 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
• Ability to obtain JWIC, SAP/SAR clearance
• Requires 7-9 years of experience with BS/BA
• Minimum 3 years of Cisco experience; routers, switches, firewalls, UC equipment
• Proven VMware experience
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• SDN expertise and network automation familiarity
• Experience with Change Management processes
• Knowledge of DISN / SPARTAN / CANES systems
• IA Certifications consistent with 8570 IAT Level III (CISSP, CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, GCED, GCIH)
• Strong communication and Agile/DevSecOps experience
• Gitlab, Jira, Confluence usage

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze the existing network architecture and provide designs of WAN/MAN/LAN technologies
• Lead design, implementation, and sustainment of secure, scalable network architectures for DoW software apps across dev/test/prod
• Recommend best practices: SDN, intent-based networking, network segmentation
• Collaborate with stakeholders and DoW engineers to design telecommunications circuit specs
• Integrate networking solutions into the application lifecycle from design to deployment
• Serve as the primary technical interface for network discussions with government stakeholders
• Guide monitoring, logging, and incident response for network infrastructure
• Develop and enforce network standards and baselines
• Maintain network architecture specifications and artifacts
• Provide detailed hardware/software selection analysis and cost-benefit insights
• Test network designs and oversee proper hardware configurations
• Plan network enhancements with product teams
• Advise users on hardware requirements and configurations
• Maintain technical expertise on routers, firewalls, VPNs, etc.
• Evaluate new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities
