Job summary

KaylaTek, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in the Washington, DC area to support AFNCR IT Services. The role requires active DoD Secret clearance, 8140 IAT II certs, CCNA/CCNP Security, and extensive LAN/WAN expertise. On-site at JBAB/JBA with occasional telework and a fast-paced, secure environment.

You will manage, harden, and optimize enterprise networks, coordinate with vendors, and participate in on-call rotations, ensuring high availability and compliance with DoD mandates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree +5+ years progressive network engineering experience or equivalent.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• 8140 IAT Level II certificate (CCNA/CCNP Security).
• Master LAN technologies: VLANs, VTP, Port Security, STP, L2/L3 switching.
• Experience with routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS.
• DoD security hardening standards and COMSEC handling.

Responsibilities

• Monitor enterprise network infrastructure for real-time alerts and anomalies.
• Triage, isolate, and resolve network issues using SOPs and automation.
• Escalate complex issues to higher-tier engineering or leadership.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise routers and switches.
• Coordinate with vendors to drive rapid resolution of outages.
• Plan and execute Authorized Service Interruptions per change control.
• Enforce DoD and local security mandates.
• Upgrade IOS, apply STIGs, and deploy patches.
• Deliver technical guidance for special projects and on-call rotation.
