Job summary

KaylaTek seeks a Network Administrator/Engineer to secure and optimize enterprise networks across unclassified and classified environments in the Washington, DC area. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and harden systems, coordinating with vendors and DoD stakeholders to ensure high availability and rapid incident response.

The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance, 8140 IAT Level II certification (CCNA/CCNP Security), and a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in network

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of progressive network engineering experience or equivalent
• Active DoD Secret clearance required
• Current 8140 IAT Level II certificate: CCNA or CCNP Security
• Strong LAN technologies and VLANs, STP, and Layer 2/3 switching
• Proficient in routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS
• Experience with DoD security hardening standards and COMSEC handling

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor enterprise network infrastructure and data systems for real-time alerts
• Triage, isolate, and resolve network anomalies per SOPs and automation scripts
• Escalate complex issues to higher-tier engineering or leadership
• Configure, deploy, and maintain Cisco routers and switches for peak performance
• Coordinate with external vendors to resolve outages or degradations
• Plan and execute Authorized Service Interruptions per change management
• Enforce DoD security mandates and apply STIGs
• Perform OS upgrades and patch management; support on-call rotation
