Job summary

Trace Systems Inc. in McChord, WA seeks a Network Engineering Support professional with DoD 8140 qualifications and a Secret clearance. You will implement and maintain complex LAN/WAN environments, including Cisco hardware, MPLS/VPLS, and VPNs, while ensuring high availability across CONUS/OCONUS sites.

Responsibilities include routing protocol management, network security, and detailed project updates. The role requires 6+ years of experience and citizenship for government work.

Qualifications

• Active in-scope US Government Secret clearance.
• US citizenship is required.
• DoD 8140 qualifications: 411 Technical Support Specialist, Intermediate.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military training.
• 6+ years of LAN/WAN and network hardware experience.
• DoD 8140 certifications (e.g., Security+, CND, GSEC) may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN communications, Cisco routers, switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls.
• Manage routing protocols: RIP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF.
• Apply MPLS, VPLS, VPNs for local/long-haul networks and traffic engineering.
• Support Wireless, Riverbeds, Call Manager Express environments.
• Engineer and administer multilayer routers, switches, security devices, and management systems.
• Troubleshoot network outages and provide timely project updates.
