Job summary

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is seeking a Senior Docket Specialist to support our litigation and bankruptcy practice groups. The ideal candidate will manage deadlines, interpret complex procedural rules, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced environment in Los Angeles.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years’ docketing experience with rules-based calendaring, strong knowledge of federal/state/bankruptcy rules, and proficiency with electronic filings, including CompuLaw, CourtAlert, and eDockets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years docketing experience with a rules-based calendaring system (CompuLaw, CourtAlert, eDockets).
• Advanced working knowledge of federal, state, appellate, and bankruptcy rules.
• Experience with electronic filings in Illinois state court and federal courts (Chicago Office).
• Advanced working knowledge of federal and state court processes and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize high-volume, high-risk matters with exceptional accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Calendar deadlines into the Firm’s docketing system.
• Serve as subject matter expert on court rules and procedural requirements.
• Identify calendaring risks and recommend corrective action.
• Research and resolve complex docketing questions for attorneys and staff.
• Assist in training new docket staff on policies, procedures, and software.
• Lead special projects as needed.
• Generate reports and provide case information to Case Teams.
• Provide court processes and procedural information to attorneys and staff.
• Support cross-office docketing activities.
