Job summary

Optimum is seeking a DNS Engineer - SRE to own the architecture, scalability, and reliability of our DNS infrastructure powering a large ISP/core network. You will emphasize automation, observability, and self-healing systems while protecting privacy with DoH/DoT.

You will collaborate with Product, Security, and Service Assurance teams to deliver a carrier-grade DNS ecosystem with aggressive availability targets and security controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical networking and security experience.
• 2–3+ years in networking or systems engineering with SRE focus.
• Hands-on DNS config/maintenance with two or more DNS systems.
• Strong Linux/Unix, scripting (Python/Go/Bash) skills.
• Experience with DNSSEC, DoH/DoT, and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect global DNS architectures for high availability and Anycast routing.
• Drive reliability through SLOs, error budgets, and automation.
• Lead vendor engagements and roadmaps for DNS infrastructure.
• Automate deployments and capacity planning, monitor health and latency.
