Job summary

Optimum Communications Inc. seeks a Senior DNS Engineer - SRE to own strategic DNS architecture and ensure sub-millisecond performance for millions of users.

You will drive automation, observability, and self-healing practices, mentor junior engineers, and steer the technical roadmap with cross-functional teams across Product, Security, and Service Assurance. Deep networking & security expertise required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/Telecommunications or related field
• 5+ years in networking or systems engineering with 3+ years SRE in high-scale env
• DNS authority with 3+ of BIND/Unbound/PowerDNS/AWS Route 53/Azure DNS
• Advanced Networking: TCP/IP, BGP, and DoH/DoT
• Software engineering: Python/Go/Bash for automation
• Observability stack: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry

Responsibilities

• Lead global DNS architecture and high availability.
• Own lifecycle of DNS platforms including automation and capacity planning.
• Define SLOs and error budgets for core name services.
• Oversee security and DNSSEC, DoH/DoT considerations.
• Develop comprehensive monitoring and observability.
