Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Senior Distribution Systems Engineer in Hawaii to modernize network design and support multiple Air Force and Space Force bases. The role requires leading survey and implementation efforts, working with base counterparts, and coordinating wired network sustainment.

The position is on-site at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii, with no travel pay and a requirement to reside in Honolulu for daily on-site support. Secret clearance is necessary.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required with 5+ years DS engineering experience.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• Experience with ISP/OSP distribution systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on equipment and infrastructure maintenance to field engineers.
• Lead small implementation teams or manage specific work scopes at a site.
• Coordinate design, installation, base access, and personnel for on-time tasks.
• Conduct end-to-end testing of fiber using OTDR, power meters, and related tools.
• Review team work for accuracy and coach staff to ensure quality production.
• Communicate daily with team to align on project timelines and goals.
