Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Junior Distribution Systems Engineer to support the BIM contract on-site at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii. The role requires residing in the Honolulu area for daily onsite support, with no travel pay.

You will work with network equipment, patch panels, and cabling while documenting findings and assisting senior engineers. The position emphasizes teamwork, basic installation tasks, and ongoing learning with opportunities to move onto other initiatives after the contract

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or 2+ years of related experience.
Security+ CE certification is required.
Familiar with distribution systems (ISP/OSP) design and implementation documents.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic installation of equipment and infrastructure for the BIM contract, including rack and stack, UPS, PDU, APs, patch panels and cabling.
Document field findings and report issues to senior staff to keep projects on track.
Support assessments and provide preliminary observations for design reviews.
Coordinate site access, equipment readiness, and scheduling with Government POCs as directed.
Collaborate with team members and communicate daily to support project timelines.
